Happy Birthday featuring the Forever Fern Bundle

Hello everyone! If you are new to my Blog, welcome! And if you are a returning friend, thanks for popping in!

The card I am sharing with you today is a card I cased by the amazing Cindy Schuster, her card had a Christmas theme but I am in need of a Birthday Card this coming week for a very special lady.  I promised her I would remember her birthday and I hope she won't be disappointed.

My card features the Forever Fern Bundle, stamped in colours to co-ordinate with the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and then die cut.  I have also die cut other elements from the same die set - the solid die cut images add colour and definition to my sentiment which was stamped on So Saffron card stock with versamark ink and heat embossed in white. The sentiment was then die cut using the Tasteful Label Dies.

I went ahead and glued my vellum onto the piece of DSP using liquid glue then ounched notches on each side.  The Bumble Bee ribbon was tied around this piece then it was glued onto the card front.  I arranged my die cuts until I was happy and attached them to the Vellum rectangle with glue dots and then adhered my stamped sentiment over the top using foam Dimensionals.

The DSP is from a new pack called Magic In This Night available in the August - December Mini Catalogue from 4 August to 31 December.

Christmas In July

Hello everyone and thanks for popping in!

Last weekend I held a Christmas In July card class and everyone seemed to have a ball.  This is really a thing here in Australia as our Christmases are usually hot and very humid due to our southern hemisphere summer and cooking up a storm can be a bit of a struggle.

For my class, I tried to keep things simple.  I decided to feature the Mini Pumpkin Paper boxes and then get everyone to make up four note cards (which fit perfectly in these boxes) of the same design. Everyone could choose which Designer Series Paper (DSP) they could use. For this I used the returning favourites: Feels Like Frost 6 x 6 DSP, Brightly Gleaming Specialty DSP and Toile Tidings DSP which I had left over from last year. For the card design, I went with Bruno Bertucci's Scrappy Strip Technique.  These papers will be available for purchase from 4 August until 31 December 2020.

The labels for my cards were created by stamping on a strip of Whisper White card stock and centrally placing in the Tailored Tag Punch which creates the hexagon shape. To add definition, I gently dragged each side of my tag through my ink pad.

The boxes were decorated to co-ordinate the cards and features the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set and Pine Tree Punch together with a piece of vellum punched with the Label Me Lovely Punch. The trees were decorated with the Rhinestone Basic Jewells. These items are currently available in the 2020/21  Annual Catalogue.

These were made up as table treats and were a hit with everyone.  Inside there was a White Christmas truffle. The Mini Curvy Keepsake Box dies are also available in the current Annual Catalogue.

Here are a few more photos from my classes.  Sorry no photo of the ladies creating, we were all too busy to even think about getting the camera out.

If you have any questions about my projects, please leave a comment below and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Have a great day!

Colour INKspirations Challenge #81 - Merry Christmas

Thanks for popping in! A new colour challenge has been released over at Colour INKspirations and it definitely has Christmas tonings.

For my card, I have featured the Christmas Gleaming stamp set.  This set also has co-ordinating punches and will be available for purchase from 4 August through to the end of December 2020. Also featured is the newly released Playful Alphabet Dies.

I started by stamping the holly image from this stamp set on the Crumb Cake card stock piece in Crumb Cake Ink down the right hand side to add a feature.  I then swapped my ink to Cinnamon Cider and stamped the same image onto Whisper White card stock and then fussy cut this image. For the 'Christmas', I partially stamped the 'Merry Christmas' stamp also in Cinnamon Cider ink and trimmed it down. The Merry was die cut from Real Red card stock and the Foam Adhesive sheets to give extra dimension.

  • Real Red card stock matte layer 3 1/2" x 5 1/8"
  • Crumb Cake card stock layer 3 3/8" x 5"
  • Real Red card stock for 'MERRY'
  • Whisper White card stock for 'Christmas' sentiment and holly image
