Trimming The Town for Christmas

Hello and thanks for popping in!

Today's cards feature the Trimming The Town Suite from Stampin' Up!.  I've used the Designer Series Paper (DSP) and made the most of those tine little houses.  I wanted to fussy cut them together with a few trees to create a Christmas Card with a wintery feel.

Love the simplicity and those tiny houses and trees weren't really that hard to cut out being mostly straight lines. It's not showing up to well in the photo but the card on the right has the Night of Navy background embossed with the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder.  I wanted to show that by adding in a little embossing how it can change to look and add a little interest to your backgrounds. For those of you that don't have this folder, adding a few splatters of either White Ink or Shimmer Paste would also create great texture.

Supplies Needed:
  • Cardstock:  Whisper White Thick A4, Champagne Foil, Whisper White Regular A4, Night of Navy (AC 2020-21)

To begin, I fussy cut a few houses and trees and set these aside.  I took a piece of Whisper White cardstock measuring 1" smaller on the long sides and 2" smaller on the long side and cut a curve. I glued this onto a piece of Night Of Navy cardstock  measuring the same at the piece of Whisper White cardstock with Tombow Glue not quite going all the way to the top of the curve to create a piece that measures 4 3/4" x 3 1/8".  I arranged the houses and trees tucking them behind the piece of Whisper White and gluing down with Tombow Glue. The ribbon was then wrapped around the bottom of this piece, with a bow tied on the left hand side, using a glue dot to hold it in place.   This was glued onto a piece of Champagne Foil measuring 4 7/8" x 3 1/4".

The completed card topper was then adhered to the card base.
