Hello and thanks for popping in!
New challenge over at Colour INKspirations Challenge and wow, the colours this time are very bright, cheerful and could easily be tropical. The colours for this challenge are: Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral, Magenta Madness and Garden Green and are inspired by a photo taken by fellow CIC Crew Member, Cheryll Miller. Black, White, Neutrals and Metalics are also allowed.
I decided to stamp a One Sheet Wonder. I follow the amazing Ruth Trice at Artful Stamping and she is a wiz at this technique. My project was definitely made easier by having the colours already chosen for me.
Supplies Needed:
- Stamp Sets: Blossoms in Bloom (AC 2020-21), Pretty Perennials (J-J MC 2021), Waterfront (AC 2020-21)
- Ink: Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral, Magenta Madness, Garden Green, Gray Granite
- Cardstock: Basic White Thick (card bases), Basic White Regular, Merry Merlot, Calypso Coral, Garden Green (matte layers)
- Acrylic Clear Stamp Blocks: A, B, C, D and F
- Paper Trimmer
Stamping it All:
I started by stamping a background in Gray Granite using the large stamp from Blossoms in Bloom stamp set across the centre of my sheet of Basic White A4 cardstock.
This is to add texture to the finished stamping. Trust me, by the end, you won't even know it's there.
Using the largest flower in the Pretty Perennials stamp set, I stamped over these in Magenta Madness in groups of three.
Using the second largest flower from the same stamp set, I stamped in Calypso Coral. I stamped second generation to get added depth.
I took the smallest flower and stamped this in Daffodil Delight filling in the gaps in between and around the other larger flowers.
Next I went and stamped the centres of the flowers in Merry Merlot using second generation stamping in the flowers that were also stamped second generation.
Using Garden Green, I went and stamped leaves on the outer edges of the flowers using the smaller leaf from Blossoms in Bloom.
I decided it needed a little more Merry Merlot in the mix so I went and stamped extra small flowers using one of the smaller flower stamps again from Blossoms in Bloom.
Next came splatters and this was stamped in Magenta Madness. I used the splatter stamp from Waterfront for this but you could use any splatter stamp you have.
I then decided to add in a bit more Garden green and used one of the flower centres from the Pretty Perennials stamp set for this.
Lastly, I didn't like the naked centres in the Daffodil Delight flowers, so I stamped the middles with Magenta Madness.
Once finished, I decided to make the most of my stamping and cut my page into eight equal card fronts. You could just do four which would show more of the stamping.
Here I've made four landscape orientation cards using Merry Merlot and Calypso Coral for my matte layers.
And here I've made four portrait orientation cards using Merry Merlot and Garden Green as my matte layers.
I'm not sure if I will add a sentiment as I don't really want to cover all that beautiful stamping.

Thank you so much taking the time to drop in. I hope I have inspired you to give this technique a try. If a full sheet overwhelms you, try a half, after all, it's only ink and cardstock. If you like what I have shown or if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below.
Take care, stay safe and have a great day!

DeleteMonica this is fabulous. Thanks so much for the step by step instructions, I never would have thought to use the texture base layer, what a gorgeous set of cards. And I agree they don't really need sentiments. I will have to try this.
