Purple Christmas Wishes - Colour INKspiration Challenge #155

Hi there and thanks for popping in!

We have a new challenge over in Colour INKspirations and used the colours as an alternative palette for a Christmas Card.  Are you a traditionalist and prefer reds and greens or do you like to experiment with your Christmas colours?  I chose the inspiration piccie for this challenge and I can't wait to go and check out everyone's projects using these colours.

My card features the Merriest Trees Bundle.  I've used the purple tones to create a ombre colouring on my tree reversing and offsetting the same dies for the layers of sparkle die cut from the Be Dazzling 6 x 6 Specialty Papers.  Background texture was added by using the wave design embossing folder from the new Cheery Patterns folders in the Sep - Dec Mini Catalogue.

Texture was added to each layer by blending ink, tone on tone to each of the sections then gently scrunching.  To assemble the tree, I glued each pair of layers together then created dimension by adding Dimensionals just under the lower edges and adding a drop of glue to secure the top edges.

The dry embossed cardstock was matted onto a slightly larger piece of Cherry Cobbler which was then put onto a Basic White card base.  The sentiment comes from the same co-ordinating stamp set and was stamped in Cherry Cobbler.

Supplies:
  • Bundle:  Merriest Trees  Bundle
  • Cardstock:  Basic White Thick (card base), Basic White regular (mat layer), Cherry Cobbler (mat layer), Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape (tree layers), More Dazzling 6 x 6 Specialty Papers (tree layers)
  • Inks:  Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Cherry Cobbler
  • Embossing Folders: Cheery Patterns Embossing Folders
  • Embellishments:  Loose Silver Sequins
  • Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Blending Brushes
  • Adhesives:  Tombow Liquid Glue, Mini Glue Dots, Mini Dimensionals, Dimensionals
