Zoo Crew Birthday Greetings - Colour INKspiration Challenge #148


 


Hello and welcome to another Colour INKspiration Challenge.

We have very dramatic colours to work with for Challenge #148.  The fabulous Brenton Golley chose our inspiration photo and we have the amazing Beverley Evans coming in as our Guest Designer.  I can't wait to see what Bev and the Crew have created.

To be honest, I struggled my first play which I thought was a little too simple and if you stick around, I'll show you later.  If you need to make a card in a hurry, this would be a perfect design.  

My second play, I went on a completely different tangent and used the Zoo Crew Designer Paper as my feature.  I used the "B" side for the background and after die-cutting one of the lion images, I created extra dimension by layering sections of the first image, simplified paper tole style. 





Supplies:

  • Stamp Set:  Circle Sayings
  • Dies:  Stylish Shapes, Nested Essentials
  • Designer Paper:   Zoo Crew 12" x 12"
  • Cardstock:  Pebbled Path, Basic Black, Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Cajun Craze
  • Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMark
  • Embellishments:  Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems
  • Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Scissors 
  • Adhesives:  Black Dimensionals, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Tombow Liquid Glue

Let's Make It:

  • Create a card base in Pebbled Path cardstock.  
  • Trim a piece of Designer Paper from the Zoo Crew Papers and mat it onto a piece of Basic Black cardstock.  Glue this to the card front.
  • Trim four strips of cardstock and randomly stamp the 'Happy Birthday' sentiment on all four strips using VersaMark Ink.
  • Glue these to the front on jaunty angles.
  • Die Cut the largest Nested Essential label die in Basic Black cardstock and attach this over the strips using Black Dimensionals.
  • Stamp the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from Circle Sayings in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and die-cut using the third-to-smallest circle from Stylish Shapes.  Glue this this to the card front towards the top of the black label.
  • Select one of the lion images and die-cut using the second-to-largest circle from Stylish Shapes.  Select a second image and fussy cut a lions head, tail end, marsh mellow and fire and overlay these onto the first image using Mini Glue Dots to create 3D dimension.
  • Attach this to the card front.
  • Add a few of the Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems to complete the front.
  • Mat a piece of Basic White onto a piece of Basic Black and glue this into the centre of the card.


As promised, here is my first play.  A really easy design and almost clean and simple.  It uses the Timeless Charm stamp set as the feature which is part of the Online Exclusive Products.

Just My Type - Vintage Collage - Colour INKspiration Challenge #147

 



Hello and welcome!  Thanks for stopping by.

Colour INkspiration Challenge #147 has kicked off and our colour palette for this Challenge gave me serious shabby chic/vintage vibes.  Our inspiration photo was chosen by fellow Crew Member, Nikki Spencer.  I can't wait to go and see what everyone has created.

Just My Type Stamp Set has recently come into my possession and I wanted to use this as the hero for my project. The typewriter image was stamped and fussy cut.  The page image was stamped separately along with the heart and also fussy cut then layered with all the other lovely details to the top of the card.

Along with the colours for this Challenge, I also used Early Espresso cardstock and ink in my card as we're allowed to include neutrals and metallics as per Challenge Rules. 

SUPPLIES:

  • Stamp Sets:  Just My Type  Gorgeously Made
  • Dies:  Delightful Doily, Paper Florist, Gorgeously Made 
  • Card Stock:  Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Copper Clay, Pool Party
  • Embellishment/Trim:  Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins, Linen Thread
  • Masks:  Foursquare
  • Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Blending Brushes
  • Adhesive:  Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Liquid Glue

Let's Make It:

  • Create a card base using Very Vanilla cardstock. 
  • Trim a piece of Copper Clay cardstock was trimmed to allow a 5/8" (1.5cm) border on all four sides.  Using the filligree design, mask over the full piece using Copper Clay ink.
  • Mount this onto a piece of Early Espresso cardstock allowing a tiny 1/16" (3mm) border on all four sides.  Glue this to the card front.
  • Die-cut a large doily from Pool Party cardstock and glue this to the front.
  • Die-cut a strip of Very Vanilla measuring approx 2" wide and just a smidge shorter than the length of the Copper Clay cardstock using the notebook page die on one side and the ripped edge on the other.  Stamp in fourth generation Early Espresso along the 'ripped' edge.



  • Glue this over towards the right side of the card front on top of the doily.
  • Stamp the typewriter and page images in Early Espresso and fussy cut.  Stamp the heart in Lost Lagoon.  Add Dimensionals to the back and attach to the card front.
  • Die-cut two flowers and small flower centres from Paper Florist Dies in Very Vanilla.  Attach the smaller one with a glue dot first.
  • Create a bow from Linen Thread and attach this above the first flower with a Glue Dot.
  • Attach the larger flower over the knot of the bow.
  • To finish the front, add three copper sequins to the front to add some sparkle.
