Colour INKspiraton Challege #160 feat. Chic Dies

Hi there and welcome!  And thanks for stopping by!

Today I have a card which I created for Colour INKspiration Challenge #160.  The colour palette for this challenge is a soft, pastel combination and was a dream to work with.  Don't let five colours put you off!   The inspiration photo for this challenge was chose by Crew Member, Vicki Boucher and our Guest Designer is the lovely Fiona Rozario.  I can't wait to go and see what everyone has created.

My card features some of our older products from the current Annual Catalogue. I've used the Chic Dies and did a little dry embossing, die-cutting, ink blending and embellishing with a gorgeous end result.  No stamping unless I decide to add a sentiment.

Supplies:

  • Dies:  Chic Dies
  • Embossing Folder:  Elegant Eucalyptus 3D
  • Cardstock:  Soft Seafoam, Highland Heather, Basic White, Balmy Blue
  • Ink:  Lemon Lolly, Highland Heather, Bubble Bath
  • Embellishments:  Purple Fine Shimmer Gems
  • Adhesives:  Tombow Liquid Glue, Dimensionals
  • Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Specialty Plate, Blending Brushes

I embossed a piece of Basic White cardstock using one of the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D Embossing Folders (it comes in a pair), trimmed and matted it onto a piece of Highland Heather cardstock and adhere this onto a Soft Seafoam card base.  I die-cut three sets of flowers in Basic White, two smaller leaves in Soft Seafoam, two larger leaves in Balmy Blue and two more leaves in Basic White.

I gently blended ink onto each of the flower bases then glued the co-ordinating top sections to each.  These were arranged across the card front and attached with Dimensionals.  The leaves were placed under the flowers and adhered with Tombow.  To finish the front, I added three of the Highland Heather gems from the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

For the inside, I  added an extra flower and two leaves to a piece of Basic White cardstock to the lower left corner, trimmed the overhang, matted this to a piece of Highland Heather and adhered this to the inside.

Sending Love - Stampin' Around The World Hop

Hello there and welcome to our very first Stampin Around The World Hop.  I'm one of many wonderfully creative Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from literally all around the world, here showing you lots of lovely projects with a 'love' theme.

My card shows a stamped heart pulling in quite a few stamp sets, as this technique tends to do and uses pinks, reds and greens as it's colour palette.  I did a little stamping to create a heart shape then added a layered die-cut sentiment to finish it off.   Afterwards I realised I should have added a few embellishments and also some Wink of Stella to the words so feel free to embellish as you like.  This card would be great not just for Valentine's Day, but also as an Engagement or Wedding or even Anniversary.

Lovely Thoughts - Colour INKspiration Challenge #159

Hi there and welcome!

Today I have a card which I've created for the Colour INKspiration Challenge #159. Only three colours in our palette this time around, so nice and easy!  Our inspiration picture was chosen by  Crew Member, Nicole Wilson and our Guest Designer is the fabulous Donna Hardcastle.  I can't wait to go and see what everyone has created.

My card uses quite a few different products but is simple in it's execution.  For my background I've used the Perennial Postage Dies and modified the Berry Burst 'postage stamp' and the Pretty Peacock 'postage stamp' to create custom sizes in Smoky Slate to fit.  You don't have to do this if you don't want to - just use the dies as is, it won't be perfect but then again, my version isn't either.  I did a little bit of stamping on the Smoky Slate pieces, tone on tone using different images from Notes of Nature Stamp Set for added interest. These were adhered to a custom-sized card base that measures 4 1/8" x 5 1/4" .

The image from Lovely & Sweet Stamp Set was stamped on Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper.  I love the extra bit of texture that it gives but regular Basic White cardstock would work just as well.  This was die cut and Smoky Slate Twine was tide around the stem.  I then attached this to the card front with Dimensionals and added three silver gems from the Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems.

To finish of the card I stamped the small leafy image from Notes of Nature in 2nd Generation Smokey Slate in top left and bottom right corners, matted this onto a layer of Smoky Slate cardstock and adhered this into the centre.

Supplies:

  • Dies:  Perennial Postage
  • Bundles:  Lovely & Sweet
  • Stamp Set:  Notes Of Nature
  • Cardstock:  Basic White Thick, Basic White regular, Berry Burst, Pretty Peacock, Fluid 100 Water Color Paper
  • Embellishment/Trim:  Adhesive-Back Sparkling Gems,  Bakers Twine Essentials Pack
  • Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Cut & Emboss Machine
  • Adhesives:  Tombow Liquid Glue,  Dimensionals
