Love and Friendship feat. Cheerful Daisies Bundle - Colour INKspiration Challenge #142

Hello and welcome!  And thanks so much for popping in!
A new colour challenge has opened up in the Colour INKspiration Facebook Group.  If you aren't a member, head on over and ask to join and answer the questions - you'll be inspired by all the fabulous creativity the Crew provides not to mention the other participants.  We have some amazing talent!  The inspiration photo was chosen by the lovely Bronwyn Eastley and we've been given quite a subdued  colour palette to work with. I've also taken the liberty and used Basic White which are well within Challenge Rules.  Our Guest Designer is the talented Sarine Zijderveld and I'm really looking forward to seeing what everyone has created.

My card features the Cheerful Daisies Bundle which will launch on 2 May 2023.  Yes, Stampin' Up have had daisies in the past but this set has a very realistic feel to it which I love and I can't wait to create with it some more.

Supplies:
  • Bundle:  Cheerful Daisies
  • Dies/Embossing Folders:  Stylish Shapes, Elegant Eucalyptus 3D (set of 2)
  • Cardstock:  Smokey Slate, Soft Succulent, Basic White
  • Ink:  Versamark
  • Colouring Accessories:  Basics Embossing Powder, Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends (light), Stampin' Blends Colour Lifter
  • Embellishments:  Iridescent Rhinestones
  • Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut &  Emboss Machine, Heat Tool, Blending Brushes
  • Adhesives:  Tombow Luquid Glue, Dimensionals
There is a Product List below with links to my store should you wish to purchase any of the items I have used.

Let's Make It:
  • Run a piece of Soft Succulent cardstock measuring 1/2" (1cm) smaller than the card front on two sides through the Cut & Emboss Machine with one of the Elegant Eucalyptus 3D Embossing Folders to add more texture to the background. and mat this onto a piece of Basic White cardstock allowing a tiny 1/16" (0.5cm) border on all four sides.
  • Attach this to a Smoky Slate card base using Dimensionals.
  • Die cut three twigs in Shaded Spruce cardstock. Very gently blend Shaded Spruce ink into the ends of each one using a Blending Brush.
  • Die cut Basic White and Smoky Slate pieces as shown in the photo below. Trim the larger one to separate the three flowers and layer and glue each flower starting with the Smoky Slate at the bottom.

  • On the top Basic White layer, use the light Smoky Slate Stampin' Blend to add a small lines of colour to the petals and blend out with the Colour Lifter.
  • Arrange the die-cuts on the card front and adhere.  Only the largest flower has been raised with Dimensionals.
  • Stamp your sentiment in Versmark Ink and heat emboss in white.  Die-cut using the third-to-smallest circle die from Stylish Shapes Dies.  Add a few Dimensionals to the bottom section and a drop of liquid Tombow to the upper and attach.
  • Add a few Iridescent Rhinestones to complete the front.
  • To finish the inside, I've added a piece of Basic White trimmed to allow a small 1/8" (0.5cm) border on all four sides.

Kylie's International Highlights - Winners Hop - April 2023

Hello everyone!  Welcome and thanks for stopping by!

I'm super excited to be hopping in the Top 10 for Kylie's International Blog Highlights for April.  I sincerely want to thank everyone who went and voted for me in the Gallery and a big congratulation to all the other winners.

Today I'm sharing a card which features Around The Bend Stamp Set and Dies which I've teamed with the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I've used quite a few new products which will launch on 2 May 2023 which I've marked with an asterisk but don't let that stop you.

The background paper comes from the Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" paper pack and I've created watercoloured-washed backgrounds for most of the die-cuts to co-ordinate with the paper I chose.  A little Wink Of Stella was added to the foliage for a little extra sparkle and to finish it off, I added a few Moody Mauve 2023 - 20425 In Colour Dots.  Lots of lovely layers in bright and cheerful colours.

SUPPLIES:

  • Stamp Set:  Around The Bend
  • Dies: Around The Bend, Stylish Shapes
  • Punch:  Very Best Trio
  • Papers:  *Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6"
  • Cardstock:  Fresh Freesia, Basic White, Basic Gray, Vellum, Fluid 100 Watercolour Paper
  • Inks:  Basic Gray, *Pretty Peacock, *Lost Lagoon, *Berry Burst, Fresh Freesia, VersaMark
  • Accessories:  Wink of Stella, Basics Embossing Powder (white)
  • Embellishments:  *2023- 2025 In Colour Dots
  • Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Mini Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Heat Tool, Blending Brushes
  • Adhesives:  Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Liquid Glue
There is a Product List below with links to my store should you wish to purchase any of the items I have used.

LET'S MAKE IT:
  • Trim a sheet of Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper in half and then trim one of those halves into two.
  • Apply a watercolour wash using Berry Burst ink over the largest piece, Lost Lagoon over one of the two smaller pieces and Pretty Peacock over the remaining piece.
  • Die-cut the flowers from the Berry Burst piece, detailed foliage from the Lost Lagoon, and third-to-largest circle from Stylish Shapes Dies from the Pretty Peacock.
  • Also die-cut three sets of the dual leaves in Basic Gray cardstock and darken the edges with a little ink blending.  For a little extra sparkle add some Wink of Stella
  • Die-Cut the next circle up in Vellum together with a wider banner.
  • Create a card base in Fresh Freesia and gently blend Fresh Freesia ink to the top right and bottom left corners.
  • Trim a piece of patterned paper from the Bright & Beautiful 6" x 6" paper pack to give a 1/4" or 0.5cm on all four sides. Punch the top right and bottom left corners using the Very Best Trio Punch  Attach to the card front using dimensionals.
  • Layer the banner and the vellum circle adhering direct to the card front.
  • Stamp your sentiment on the Pretty Peacock circle with Versamark and heat emboss in white.  Attach to the card front with Dimensionals.
  • Arrange all the die-cut flowers and foliage and add a few of the Moody Mauve In Colour Dots which co-ordinate beautifully.
  • To finish off the card, add a piece of Basic White cardstock with a tiny strip of the same paper as the front.

I would also really encourage you to go and check out everyone else's projects and be inspired by all the wonderful creativity.

Thank you so much taking the time to drop in. I hope I have inspired you and if you like what I have shown or if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below.

Until next time, take care, stay safe and have a great day!

Hey There - Colour INKspiration Challenge #141

Hello crafty friends!  Welcome and thanks for popping in.  Today I've got a card for you which was created for the Colour INKspiration Challenge #141.  For this challenge we were given the colours Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Gold and one of the retiring 2021-2023 In Colours (Fresh Freesia, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent or Evening Evergreen).  As well as the chosen colour combination Basic White and neutrals to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’, ‘Bronze’ and ‘Natural Tones’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Pumpkin Pie instead of Calypso Coral … you get the drift).

Our inspiration photo was chosen by fabulous Crew Member, Jan Clothier and our Guest Designer is the lovely Yvonne Spikmanns Van Bruggan.  I can't wait to go and see what everyone has created.

The card I've created features the Conversation Bubble Dies and I've teamed it with the Charmed Sentiments stamp set for the greeting. The background paper comes from the Enjoy The Journey 12 x 12 papers and mounted with Black Dimensionals onto a Basic Black card base.  The inside of the card was finished by adding a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with a small strip of the paper glued to the bottom.

I must stay that the Conversation Bubbles Bundle is one of those sets that you can keep quite casual for someone with a younger birthday or you could do something like this and dress it up quite elegantly for an occasion that's a little more special.  Not to mention everything in between.
