Colour INKspiration Challenge #110 featuring Intricate Leaves Dies and a Masked Background

Hello crafty friends!  And thanks for popping in!

Welcome back for Colour INKspirations Challenge #108.  The photo for this challenge was picked by fellow Crew Member, Elizabeth Gross and our Guest Designer for this challenge is the super talented Annie Alexander.

My card has a little bit of die cutting using the Intricate Leaves Dies and the background has a combination of stamping, masking and dry embossing. A simple sentiment has been added to balance the busy background.

Supplies:

  • Dies:  Intricate Leaves Dies
  • Stamp Sets:  Very Versailles, Inspired Thoughts
  • Cardstock:  Very Vanilla, Shaded Spruce, Basic Black, Pale Papaya, Gold Foil
  • Ink:  Cajun Craze, Basic Black
  • Accessories: Basic Patterns Decorative Masks, Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder
  • Tools:  Blending Brushes, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
  • Adhesives:  Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Card Assembly:

For this card you will need:
A card base in Very Vanilla cardstock
A piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 3"x 4 3/4"
A strip of Shaded Spruce cardstock measuring 3/4"x 4 3/4"
Scraps of Basic Black, Pale Papaya and Gold Foil for your die cuts.
As well as these, I decided later to add a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock measuring 1/4" smaller than the card front on two sides than the card front for the inside of the card.  This will give you a 1/8" border all round when you adhere it inside.

Using the leaf design from the Desorative Masks, use a Blending Brush and gently apply Cajun Craze ink in a slightly jaunty angle.  Begin with a darker application in the bottom left corner and fading it out towards the top left and bottom right corners.

Stamp Memento Tuxedo Black ink in 2nd generation over the stencilled area also in a slightly jaunty angle.

Using the Timeworn Type 32D Embossing folder, run this through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.

Die cut your pieces from Basic Black, Pale Papaya and Gold Foil cardstock and glue these on with Tombow Multipurpose Glue.
Attach the strip of Shaded Spuce cardstock allowing a 1/4" overhang.
Stamp the sentiment on Very Vanilla cardstock in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and trim down tightly.  Add a strip of Basic Black cardstock that's slightly narrower than the sentiment piece and attach this to the card topper with Dimensionals.
Attach the completed card topper to the front of the card using Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I used the same Decorative Mask and gently applied Cajun Craze Ink to the same corner as the card topper but kept more to the left and bottom edges.
I glued this in with Tombow Multipurpose glue.
