Colour INKspirations Challenge #84 - Just Because

Welcome everyone and thanks for popping in!  If you're new here, please feel free to go back and check out my older posts, I would love you to say hello and introduce yourself in the comment section below.  And if you're one of my regular viewers, welcome back.

Today I would like to show you my entry for the Colour INKspiration Challenge #84.  Our colours for this challenge are Magenta Madness, Just Jade, Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green and Rococo Rose.  I couldn't resist using these lovely colours in a spring-themed card as the weather here is well and truly warming up.

I started out using a quarter piece of Whisper White card stock which I later trimmed down to the measurements needed for my double matte layer.  Using a sponge, I very lightly added Just Jade ink and them Magenta Madness ink over the whole of this piece.  Using a circle die cut mask, I then went back in and added more Magenta Madness ink to the the outer areas to show a more definite circle. You could also use a sponge dauber to create this same background.

Next step was to stamp the water-like stamp from Framed For You in Rococo Rose in opposite corners using second and third generation stamping to add depth. Following this, I stamped the larger flowers in Rich Razzleberry ink followed by the smaller flowers in Magenta Madness.  I used second and third generation stamping in the groups of three flowers to again add depth. I then went and stamped the leaf sprig in Garden Green and the fern-like stamp in Just Jade in the open areas between the flowers to form a closed wreath.

The sentiment is from the Lovely You Stamp Set and is stamped inside the wreath in Rich Razzleberry. I used this greeting as it was a little larger that the sentiments in the Framed For You set and fitted the space better.  To finish off, I stamped a some dots in Just Jade using the dot stamp from Forever Fern. No project is complete with some bling, and the Iridenscent Pearls worked perfectly.

To complete my card, I adhered my stamped piece of Whisper White to the piece of Rich Razzleberry then using Dimensionals, I stuck this onto my Just Jade card base.

I added stamping to my Whisper White insert to carry over the floral theme from the front of my card.

Father's Day Gift Card Wallet

Hi everyone and thanks for popping by!

Here in Australia, our Father's Day celebration is coming up on 6th September and is traditionally held on the first Sunday of September.  The project I'm showing today was included in my Father's Day/Masculine Card workshop held last weekend and everyone loved it!

I'd seen these Gift Card Wallets on Pinterest and came across one by Jay and Barry at Mitosu Crafts which was the inspiration for my project.

The frame on the left side and the pocket on the right were made using the Stitched Rectangle dies.  The pocket on the right is large enough to hold a gift card if you sparingly dot glue along the edges using the stitched lines as a guide.  In my photo you can see I have stamped a greeting on card stock  and slid this in rather or alternatively, you could use a photo. There is also room for a small note in the pocket created at the back if you wanted to create a special message to go with your gift.

For my masculine wallet, I've used Soft Suede card stock and the greeting was stamped in Soft Suede ink on Sahara Sand.

For the ladies version, I stamped over the outside cover using the floral image from Last A Lifetime stamp set in Soft Suede ink.  The greeting for this wallet was stamped on Pool Party card stock in Soft Suede ink.

To finish off the wallets, I added the gold letters and heart on the front using the Playful Alphabet dies. If you know the initials of the person you are giving it to, you could use them instead. There are a few die sets with hearts: Birds & More, Stitched Be Mine, Trio of Tags, Wreath Builder or use whatever you have in your stash. I've used the heart from Birds & More.

This can easily fit inside an envelope.

Other products used were small magnets to hold the wallet closed.

Thanks for stopping by and taking time to have a look.  If you have any questions or if you like what you see,  please leave a comment below and I will happily get back to you.

Have a great day!

Love and Laughter Forever After - Engagement Wishes

Hi everyone, thanks for popping in!

I was asked by my youngest daughter to make an Engagement card for a friend of hers.  I love that my kids prefer to give their friends a hand-made card rather than a store bought one.  It makes my heart so happy!

My card is  very much inspired by Emma Goddard and is made a little more luxurious by using a larger card base which measures 5" x 7".  This is my preferred size for special occasion cards.   It features the floral stamp from Tasteful Touches stamp set which was stamped three times in Blushing Bride and fussy cut. The sentiment came from Forever Fern stamp set and was stamped in Soft Suede on a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock and die cut from the Tasteful Label dies.

For the background, I took one of the Greenery Embossing Folders and embossed a piece of Sahara Sand card stock measuring 3 5/8" x 6".  I distressed the edges by running the blade of my scissors along the edge of the card stock.   I also used pieces of the Forever Gold Laser-Cut Specialty Paper but instead of using the gold side, I have flipped them over and used the white side.

Other products used is the white linen ribbon from the Flowers For Every Season Combo Pack

Colour INKspirations Challenge #83 - Stamped One Sheet Wonder

There's a new colour challenge happening over the Colour INKspirations and for this I wanted to attempt the stamped one sheet wonder technique from Ruth Trice at Artful Stampin'.  Colours for this challenge are Bumble Bee, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White and Basic Black, we were also allowed to use Crumb Cake and metallics.  I added Crumb Cake to my colour palette. Second and third generation stamping was used to get more variations of colour due to the limited selection we were allowed to use.

From my full A4 sheet, I went and trimmed it both ways to create four equal card fronts then went and trimmed these down to 3 3/4"x 5 3/8".  I saved the strips to use on the inside of my cards.  These were glued onto Bumble Bee and Mossy Meadow card stock layers measuring 3 7/8" x 5 1/2" and these were adhered to Whisper White Thick card bases. I used two stamp sets: Gorgeous Posies stamp set which is part of a kit but can be purchased separately and Blossoms in Bloom.

I stamped the sentiment in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and added Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon on one card and Lilnen Twine on the other before placing my sentiments on with the Foam Adhesive Strips. Pearls were added to give both cards a little pizazz. I still felt something was missing so I went and grabbed the Many Layered Blooms dies and die cut some flowers and leaves and arranged them around my sentiments. Rather than die cut the whole die for a few leaves, I taped some scraps to the parts that I needed.

I still have two card fronts left over that I can use for any unexpected occasion that may pop up in the future.

All products used to create this project are available for purchase in my Online Store.
