Shabby Chic Florals - Colour INKspiration Challenge #162

Hello and welcome and a big thanks for popping in!

Colour INKspiration Challenge #162 has kicked off over on Facebook and today I'm sharing my card which was created for that Challenge.  The inspiration photo has been chosen by fellow Crew Member, Rose and our Guest Designer for this Challenge is the lovely Gail Ellis.  I can't wait to go and see what everyone has created.  You can find us here on Facebook.

My card features the Elegant Borders Dies that I've had for a while and have never been inspired to use.  I've teamed them with the Gorgeously Made Bundle together with the Paper Florist Dies to create a project with a shabby chic vibe which I felt these colours were crying out to be used for.

I started with a Boho Blue card base and layered a piece of Very Vanilla on top which I die-cut  each side.  I stamped in 2nd generation Early Espresso using the distressed text from Gorgeously Made Stamp Set.  While the ink was still wet, I used a Blending Brush to gently add a little extra colour to the background under where my flowers would sit.

The flowers were created by smooshing Boho Blue and Azure Afternoon inks onto a non-porous surface, sprayed with water and literally 'dumped'  a piece of Basic White cardstock in it to achieve a watercoloured effect.

I die-cut four smaller flowers and two larger, added a little Early Espresso Ink to the edges and and layered them to create three flowers using a Mini Dimensional between each layer. The middles were die-cut from Very Vanilla cardstock with Early Espresso Ink applied very very gently with a sponge dauber for added texture.

Before adding these to the card front I die-cut two pieces of foliage from the Gorgeously Made Die from Early Espresso Cardstock and then attached the flowers on top using  Dimensionals.

I added a triple bow using the Linen Thread and three Iridescent Pearls to finish the front.

To complete my card I stamped one of the foliage images and the distressed text images in 2nd generation Early Espresso ink into the bottom right corner of a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock and took a Blending Brush and gently added a hint of colour over the top of the images. This was glued to the inside using Tombow Liquid Glue.
