Water Colouring with Embossing Folders - Colour INKspiration Challenge #193

Hello and welcome!

Today I have a card to show you which was created for Colour INKspiration Challenge #193.  The inspiration photo for this Challenge was chosen by fellow Crew Member, Vicki Boucher and our Guest Designer is the amazing Michelle Pepper.  This challenge can be found over on Facebook by clicking this LINK

We have the very soft and pretty colour palette to create with and I did a little water colour background using an embossing folder.  The card also features the Perennial Postage Dies which I teamed with Charming Days Dies for the foliage.  The sentiment comes from More Messages Bundle which I stamped in Cloud Cover to stay with the soft and delicate feel - although any of the three colours would have worked.

To create the background, I smooshed Highland Heather and Balmy Blue ink directly onto the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder in opposite diagonal corners and again using the Cloud Cover Ink Spot on the other areas.   You could also use Stampin' Write Markers if you have them to apply the colour.

Gently spritz with water and allow the colours to mix where they meet each other.  Place a piece of Basic White card stock directly on the inked embossing folder and place a piece of paper towel over and gently press to transfer the colour. You could use any embossing folder and any colour combination - experiment and have some fun, I'm sure you'll create some awesome backgrounds.

To finish off the card, I trimmed down one of the strips that was earlier cut off to adhere to the inside.  This will create some connection to the design on the front.  You can add a few embellishments if that's what you'd like - I wanted to create a clean and simple design.

Can I suggest you go grab a cuppa or a beverage of choice and go watch the full video tutorial HERE for more details and tips.

Feel INKspired to join the challenge? I would love for you to join us! It's such a great way to have fun with colours you might not normally create with.

If you'd like to join in with our Challenges, click here and ask to join Colour INKspiration, add the group to your Favourites and share it with your crafty friends so they can join in the fun too. We'd love to see what you create with these gorgeous colours! You don't have to have a Blog to participate but if you do, you can link back to your post along with any social media platforms you may have.

Just a reminder to use ALL the Challenge colours unless stated. If you don’t have the colours in our palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin’ Up! substitute – Smoky Slate instead of Cloud Cover for example. We also allow Ivory, Bronze and Natural Tones in the Stampin' Blends and Neutrals such as Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Basic Beige and Metallics.

Thank you so much taking the time to drop in. I hope I have inspired you and if you like what I have shown or if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below.

Until next time, take care, stay safe and have a great day!
