Thoughtful Wishes - Colour INKspiration Challenge #168

Hello and welcome!

The card I'm sharing today has been created for Colour INKspiration Challenge #168.  The photo for this Challenge was chosen by fellow Crew Member, Bernie Roodt and our Guest Designer is the amazing Sharon Dalton.  I can wait to go and check out what everyone has created.

We have quite a strong colour palette this Challenge but don't let this put you off.  There are many techniques you can do which will tone them down which is what did.  My card features the Thoughful Wishes Bundle and I used ink blending prior to die-cutting to create a softer finish.

The coloured die-cut was adhered over an 'embossed' feature created by using the Silicone Craft Mat with the large decorative die.  This is a great technique to use with any detailed die for extra background texture.

The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso and punched with the Labeled With Love punch.  A very light touch of Lost Lagoon ink was blended over the stamping.  This was attached to the card front with Dimensionals. No embellishments were added to keep in with the clean and simple design.

I created a second mat layer using the Silicone Mat and same detailed die for the inside of the card.

Supplies:

  • Bundle:  Thoughtful Wishes
  • Punch:  Labelled With Love
  • Inks:  Lost Lagoon, Daffodil Delight Cajun Craze, Real Red, Early Espresso
  • Cardstock:  Basic White Thick (card base), Basic White (mat layers, label)
  • Tools:  Blending Brushes, Silicone Craft Mat, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, Paper Trimmer
  • Adhesives:  Tombow Liquid Glue, Dimensionals

Thank you so much taking the time to drop in. I hope I have inspired you and if you like what I have shown or if you have any questions, please leave them in the comments section below.
