Fun Technique with Card Stock Scraps - 2023 - 25 In Colour Farewell - Colour INKspiration Challenge 186


 

Welcome to another Colour INKspiraiton Challenge!  I really do appreciate you popping in knowing that time is precious to everyone.

Colour INKspiration Challenge #186 is a tribute to the retiring 2023-25 In Colours which have been with us for almost two years.  These weren't to everyone's liking however, I really enjoyed having these colours but now it is time to say good-bye.  Don't be too sad as we are about to get five new exciting colours.  The Guest Designer for this Challenge is the amazingly talented Yvon Doensen and I can't wait to see what everyone has created.

My little project is a great one for using up those scraps.  I trimmed one 1/2" strip and two 1/4" strips in each colours. These were laid out then trimmed into different lengths of 2 1/4", 2 1/2" and 2 3/4" and glued into place starting from the top.  I'll be honest and say that there was a little spare space at the bottom once I had glued them all down but I just trimmed that off.

The sentiment was stamped in Pebbled Path and fussy cut and attached to the card front with Dimensionals.

The small embellishments were created by die-cutting two of the small floral/star emblems in each of the five colours and scattering these down the strips.  A little Wink of Stella was added to each one for a little sparkle.  You could use other co-ordinating embellishments as an alternative.

  • Stamp Set:  Saying Hey
  • Dies:  Lovely & Sweet
  • Cardstock:  Basic White Thick, Boho Blue, Moody Mauve, Copper Clay, Pebbled Path, Wild Wheat
  • Ink:  Pebbled Path
  • Sparkle:  Wink of Stella
  • Tools:  Paper Trimmer, Stampin Cut & Emboss Machine
  • Adhesive:  Tombow Multipurpose Glue, Dimensionals

Textured Floral Aperture Card - Colour INKspiration Challenge 185





Hello and welcome!  I know time is very important so I want you to know I appreciate you stopping by.

Colour INKspiration Challenge 185 has opened up over on Facebook and we have a mixed colour palette to work with this time.   Our inspiration photo was chosen by fellow Crew Member, Vicki Boucher and our Guest Designer is the fabulous Gail Ellis.  I can't wait to go see what everyone has created.


My project features the Textured Floral Bundle which is now part of the Last Chance Promotion currently on offer.  I will really miss this Bundle as I have used it a lot during its time in the Annual Catalogue.  I've teamed it up with the Everyday Arches Dies which I'm also having lots of fun with at the moment.  

In the background, behind the arch aperture, I've created a textured backdrop using the soon-to-be-released Pressed Flowers Embossing Folder.  I can also see this being very popular as it gives a lovely, soft and subtle finish.

To finish off the card, I created a bow using the Fresh Freesia Seam Binding Ribbon which was part of the recent Sale-A-Bration offer along with Linen Thread.  I added a few Iridescent Pearls for a little bling.

To complete the inside, I added a small strip of the embossed card stock which was left over from trimming off to fit the front.
